What We're Reading

Our booksellers read constantly. Here are their favorite discoveries from this month's stack.

Arthur
Arthur recommends The Silent Ocean:

"I couldn't put this down. Jenkins masterfully weaves the isolation of the Maine coast into the psychology of her protagonist. Not a conventional thriller by any means, but deeply unsettling and beautifully written."

Clara
Clara recommends Urban Myths:

"If you love Gabriel García Márquez, this anthology is for you. The third story about a subway train that skips a century took my breath away."

Our Story

Established in 1998, Chapter & Verse began as a small used book stall in the local farmer's market. Thanks to the voracious reading appetite of our community, we moved into our permanent historic brick-and-mortar location in 2005.

We pride ourselves on offering an alternative to algorithmic recommendations. We know our regulars by name, we host local poetry slams, and we vehemently defend the scent of a freshly printed page.
